About the client
Employment.org is a US-based company that specializes in delivering tools helping its users to search for a job in the US market. Their job search engine has over 200.000 daily users and helped millions of people find a job over the years. Employment.org works with many high profile employers allowing them to connect with potential employees using precisely targeted ads thanks to dedicated ad portal tool.
The challenge
The solution
We had to work very closely with the client to understand his needs, gather all necessary requirements and design a new app from scratch. We advised our client on new technologies stack:
- JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS), Ruby on Rails, Python
- Google Kubernetes Engine
- Google Cloud Functions / Cloud Run
- Google Cloud SQL, Google Cloud Datastore, Google Cloud Storage
- Google Cloud Pub/Sub
Those technologies were crucial in order to achieve quick development, high scalability and thanks to cloud solutions we were able to significantly reduce operating cost of the infrastructure.
We had to rebuild the platform to serve 5M users a month and instantly scale to handle unexpected peaks of traffic.
Results
The new application is ready and expected to launch in 2019 after a series of A/B tests that will ensure the best user experience and ad revenue. The platform is expected to match and exceed the current user base. Many new features are already in the development phase and new will be added after the site launches.

The places our users work in require mobility and easy instant access to the Emplyment.org platform. We had to tackle the challenges of user-friendly searching on mobile screens.
When working on the project we focused on using the most recent technology pieces.
Our top priority was keeping the platform quickly scalable and stable under irregular traffic with numerous peaks. The Employment.org technology stack is:

Conversation is one of our most important values and a habit we support at every stage of our development process. Conversation is executed through digital tooling so the context is never lost. We use Slack for chat, Jira for planning, and Github for code reviews and discussion.
