About the client
Supple.pl is one of our internal projects which we built as part of our venture building program. It is a market-leading comparison platform dedicated to OTC drugs and nutritional supplements in Poland. The platform actively increases its users’ awareness about drugs and supplements.
When creating the platform we had to focus on two things. Number one - we had to remember about optimizing the platform for SEO purposes as it is the main driver of traffic to the site. Secondly, we needed to be very picky about UX design to make sure users find what they need quickly and engage with the platform.
As a first step, we established the strategy for SEO, content creation and maximizing visibility. Having the business approach in place, we created the first UX sketches and immediately started testing it with users. After several iterations, we managed to figure out the final shape of the interface and then moved on to create the final polished UI design. The design added more visual interest through the use of textures and extended the brand concept by introducing “Supple” as a visual element. The layout was also modified to support shareability.
Running our own project helps us stay on the business side of startups.
We launched the Supple platform and successfully scaled it to 200k+ monthly visits. Focusing on the users’ needs, we were able to deliver value which translated to a loyal user base and enabled the platform to start monetizing by partnering up with B2B clients. Ongoing users tests and analyses enable us to iterate on the platform and make it better every day.
When working on the project we focused on using the most recent technologies.
To meet our goals with Supple.pl project, our team had successfully developed an advanced search engine in PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch. We also integrated the site with Amazon Web Services S3. The Supple.pl technology stack is:
- Ruby on Rails
- AWS S3 API
- Rollbar (error tracking software)
- GitHub (code review)
- Cloudflare (protection)
- CircleCI (integration)
Conversation is one of our most important values and a habit we support at every stage of our development process. Conversation is executed through digital tooling so the context is never lost. We use Slack for chat, Jira for planning, and Github for code reviews and discussion.
